John Lyon is an Employee Benefits Managing Advisor in the AHT New York office. With over 30 years in the insurance industry, he is focused on serving as a strategic advisor to assist his clients in regaining control of their #2 business expense, in turn freeing up resources to accomplish their most pressing organizational objectives. His primary expertise is in designing and implementing transparent employee benefit programs for mid to large-sized employer groups. These programs focus on access to data, cost containment strategies, predictive analytics and the relationship between high quality care and the lowest cost providers, with an end goal of reversing the annual process that typically results in decreased benefit plans for employees, and increased costs through higher payroll deductions, deductibles, copays and out-of-pocket expenses. John directs his energy towards designing and implementing programs that help employers offer high quality and affordable benefit programs that empower their employees to improve health and well being, while stabilizing or reducing costs. Prior to joining AHT in 2020, John was the CEO and President of People’s United Insurance Agency.
