INTERNATIONAL AID & DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATIONS

KNOWLEDGE FIRST. RISK FIRST. CLIENTS FIRST.

Managing the known and preparing for the unknown to put YOUR focus on the mission

WHY AHT for INTERNATIONAL AID & DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATIONS?

WE KNOW IADO RISK

We REALLY do. Comprehensive risk management for the IADO space is more than just buzzwords and what you see in the news. Our team has years of in-depth understanding and a focus on international risk — enabling them to speak fluently about global risk management to better help safeguard your organization.

WE ADVOCATE FOR YOU

Yes, our foundation is insurance. We’ve built and solidified relationships with carriers and underwriters to make sure when we market your organization to them, they take the time to listen to us and truly understand YOUR risks instead of lumping you into a generic category of risk.

WE ARE YOUR EYES & EARS

Time – there’s never enough. We partner with you to monitor, research and understand new and existing risks to your organization. Our team serves as an extension of your team without taking more time away from your day.

WE ARE INNOVATORS

Connect the dots. Recognizing you have many needs outside of insurance and risk management, we’ve formed strategic partnerships to help you bridge gaps and enhance your program — from on-the-go education to networking opportunities and more.

WE SEE INTO YOUR WORLD – ON THE FRONT LINES & BEHIND THE SCENES

Humanitarian, Leader, Educator, Fundraiser, Family Member, Caregiver, Communicator, Crisis Manager – sound like a few of the hats you wear trying to accomplish one thing – to make an impact? We can help.

WE ARE WHERE YOU NEED US

In your office, behind our desk, in front of a carrier, at the training table, on Capitol Hill, networking with a partner — supporting your needs in expected, and unexpected, places.

MEET THE IADO TEAM LEADERS

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

International Aid and Development Organizations (IADO) make a substantial impact in the world — an impact that is deeply respected by the members of our team and AHT as a firm. Our team’s mission is to give organizations the time and resources to focus on THEIR mission by understanding your known risks, preparing for unknown risks and managing them to safeguard your people and your organization.

Caren Huminski, CPCU, RPLU
Practice Leader, IADO / Sr. Account Executive

Caren Huminski is the Practice Leader for AHT’s International Aid & Development Organization (IADO) Practice, as well as a Senior Account Executive for AHT’s Nonprofit Practice. In her role, Caren designs and implements solutions that promote the best insurance and risk management outcomes for AHT’s IADO and Nonprofit clients. In doing so, Caren routinely engages in strategic planning and design of US and International insurance programs, developing carrier and partner relationships, negotiating policy placements, review and analysis of policy language, design and implementation of risk management initiatives/programs, claims review and loss control services.

Caren joined AHT in 2014 after developing a broad base of insurance experience as a senior underwriter for Management Liability, Errors & Omissions and Kidnap, Ransom & Extortion. Her focus included working with nonprofit, for-profit and publicly-traded companies.

Joe Gleason
Director of Risk Management

Mike is actively involved with Humentum, Interaction, The International NGO Safety and Security Association and other industry associations serving the international development community.
