Chair

Under David’s leadership, AHT has achieved national recognition as a “Best Place to Work in Insurance” and a “Top 100 Broker” for its technology and management liability insurance programs. He led the development of AHT’s proprietary D&O loss prevention program, Ensuring Integrity, which has been instrumental in helping clients minimize price increases on these policies.

He also helped design MyRiskTracker, an insurance certificate management and compliance system for real estate and multi-national risks. This proprietary software tracks whether their tenants, subcontractors or other dependencies are in compliance with contractual insurance requirements.

David is co-author of Understanding Insurance and Risk Management for Government Contracts, a research project funded by a grant from the Chubb Group of Insurance Cos. The research led to AHT’s special contract risk management training program for bid and proposal staff, program managers, finance and legal professionals and Chubb’s new underwriting methodology, forms and rates.

David is also a founding member and past chair of TechAssure, the first nonprofit organization for risk management professionals in technology products and services. He has testified before standing committees of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives and the U.S. Office of Management and Budget about corporate risk management and insurance issues.

Prior to joining AHT in 1987, David worked in the information technology services group at McDonnell Douglas Corporation and as a legislative assistant to a U.S. Congressman on Capitol Hill. He was named a principal in 1991 and executive vice president of AHT in 2007.

A Personal Note:

“I like working at AHT because it allows me to do my best work for my clients. We simply have more latitude and independence here, and that gives us the ability to deliver exactly what our clients need. For example, a major carrier recently offered a new directors and officers liability policy that was significantly better for our clients than their existing policies. We were able to upgrade the existing policies of all our clients without waiting until their current policies expired—something that most firms would not have had the flexibility to accomplish. We know that our clients hope never to need their insurance. But, if they do have a claim, “The Moment of Truth in Our Business,” they’re going to be really happy they’re with us. That’s important to me.”
