AHT Names Two New Shareholders in Washington Metro and Seattle Offices

Leesburg, VA – October 22, 2018: AHT Insurance is pleased to name Brian Schermerhorn, Senior Vice President, and Brett Webster, Senior Vice President, as new Shareholders.

AHT pursues a strategy to provide our clients with unique and unsurpassed value by working as a team to protect what matters most and provide heroic service in the execution of our mission. As AHT strives to enhance its position to attract and retain top talent that complements and supports the organization’s goals, nurturing future leaders within the firm is fundamental to maintaining a consistent, exceptional experience for every client. As Shareholders, Schermerhorn and Webster will expand their focus as leaders in their current roles – providing critical support to attract and retain key business relationships and recruit talent.

“AHT is blessed to add the kind of talent Brian and Brett represent to our ownership base. It is a wonderful professional achievement for them, as well as a reflection of the power of our model for insurance professionals who drive strategic value for clients,” says David Schaefer, President and CEO of AHT Insurance.

Brian Schermerhorn has spent more than nine years of his career with AHT and possesses 21 years of combined insurance carrier and brokerage experience. In his current role as Senior Vice President, Schermerhorn serves as a key conduit between AHT’s customers, insurance companies and all the resources AHT offers clients. Schermerhorn coordinates, negotiates and designs highly customized insurance solutions for clients and serves as the Practice Leader for AHT’s government contracting and technology sectors.

Prior to joining AHT, Schermerhorn worked in various roles, from Underwriter to Division Manager, with some of AHT’s premier insurance partners, including Fireman’s Fund (Allianz), CNA and Hartford.

“I am excited to join the AHT Shareholders and help continue the tradition of building a fiercely independent, full-service, insurance agency for the next 100 years. I look forward to cultivating and expanding our innovative technology practice group both domestically and globally,” says Schermerhorn.

Brett Webster joined AHT eight years ago and has distinguished himself as a leading producer in AHT Seattle’s Benefits Practice. In his current role, Webster assists clients with data-driven, strategic consulting focusing on enhancing employee satisfaction through benefit plans with the best possible value for the organization. Webster is an active member of the Seattle chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management and founding member of a Seattle-based nonprofit organization.

Prior to joining AHT, Webster worked for two national payroll and Human Resources organizations where he spent more than eight years honing his expertise in sales, marketing and client service.

“I look forward to joining a long legacy of AHT Shareholders who sought to earnestly serve our clients and employees. With an increasingly complex employee benefits landscape on the horizon, I look forward to putting my years of consulting experience to work addressing our clients’ most pressing employee benefits challenges, both in the U.S. and globally,” says Webster.
