Brian has spent his entire 32-year career on the brokerage side of the business servicing Japanese Corporations, both in the United States and abroad. Brian has worked for the large Global Brokerage firms of Marsh, Aon, and Willis Towers Watson over the course of his career. Exposure to Global opportunities has shaped the way he looks at risk. While working in the early part of his career, he was focused on trading firms, electronics manufacturers, Japanese airline companies and retail hotels. Once he relocated to Nashville in 1998 Brian quickly pivoted to heavy manufacturing risks within the automobile and parts supplier base. Brian works across all lines of business and gets involved with both Property & Casualty and Employee Benefits programs.
Brian has been working closely with his partner Hiromoto Ushiki since 2013 when they became Co-National Sales Leaders in the US and in 2014 both were promoted up to become Co-National Practice Leaders in the US. Brian and Hiro moved to Baldwin Risk Partners (BRP) to get back to the basics and service our clients with accountability and passion. The attention to detail that BRP provides to clients aligns well with Brian and Hiro’s vision for what the Global Japanese Practice has always strived for, which is our clients always come first. Brian spent 7 years working in the New York market and has spent the past 25 years working in the Nashville/Southeast markets.
Brian has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science/Pre-Law with a minor in History from the University of Rhode Island.
