AHT’s Caren Huminski and Tara Trout Named 2018 Elite Women in Insurance by Insurance Business

Leesburg, VA – June 27, 2018: AHT Insurance is pleased to announce that two of its insurance professionals, Caren Huminski and Tara Trout, have been named to the 2018 Elite Women in Insurance list by Insurance Business. The list includes 95 of the most trailblazing women who are raising the bar on gender equality in the insurance industry.

This year, hundreds of nominations were submitted for this elite award which is a true testament to the impact these impressive and well-respected women are making on the insurance world.

Caren Huminski, Practice Leader for International Aid and Development Organizations, joined AHT Insurance in 2014. Huminski developed a broad base of insurance experience in management liability, errors & omissions and kidnap, ransom and extortion as an Assistant Vice President of Underwriting prior joining the AHT team. At AHT, Huminski leads the agency’s international aid and development organization practice. She designs and places international and domestic insurance programs with complex, unique exposures and guides the overall strategic direction and management of the practice. Understanding that the international aid and development community often operates in difficult and challenging circumstances, Huminski makes it her team’s mission to provide strong, effective solutions that allow clients to focus on what matters most.

Tara Trout, Assistant Vice President, Director of Farm and Equine and Private Client Specialist, works in AHT’s personal and equine practice – specializing in personal and estate insurance programs for individuals and families with properties ranging from high-value homes to rentals. Trout has more than 16 years of specialized expertise managing complex accounts with operations that include staff exposures, watercraft, aircraft, vineyards, cattle, equine, tenant crops, horse shows, events and multi-state exposures. Trout remains fluent in industry changes and advancements through her membership in the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors, the Insurance Skills Center and the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research. Outside of AHT, she serves on the board of directors for the Upperville Colt and Horse Show and is the chair of the farm and ranch insurance coverage committee for RiskProNet International.
