15 Health Care Reform Event: What Employers Need to Know
Time: 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Contact: Linda Giersher
Location: Tower Club - 8000 Towers Crescent Drive, Vienna, VA
Cost: Free
Recent health reform legislation has created a new world for employers and the health plans that they sponsor for their employees. Questions abound, including: Will your company be subject to the "pay or play" employer mandates and essential benefit packages? How and when will your plans need to be redesigned in order to extend dependent coverage to age 26, eliminate pre-existing conditions and lifetime limits, and impose a dollar cap on your medical flex account benefits? Are your plans grandfathered from these obligations? How will changes to the Medicare drug "donut hole" and retiree drug subsidy affect you? Will your plan be considered a "Cadillac" plan subject to excise taxes? Andrea O'Brien, Chair of the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Group at Venable LLP will answer these questions and more. Mrs. O'Brien assists clients in designing and implementing a wide range of compensation and benefit arrangements, including tax-qualified retirement plans, executive deferred compensation arrangements, cafeteria plans, health and other welfare benefit plans, and employment policies and procedures. She works closely with clients to develop and implement comprehensive compliance initiatives for HIPAA's medical privacy and security rules. If you are a Benefits Director, HR professional,CFO or in-house counsel, please plan on joining us for a seminar exploring what the new health reform legislation means to you and your company's health plans, and what steps you need to take now.

In this webinar, Derek Symer will share the results of his survey of independent schools, including common coverages, limits, and deductibles. He will discuss current trends in independent school property and casualty insurance, and will review the renewal process, including questions business managers should ask and information brokers should provide.
