group merchandising A term often used in a misleading sense to cover all forms of
mass merchandising. More accurately used to cover the sale of
insurance to the members of a particular group or association
under a single group contract, where premiums for the participants
are determined for the group on the basis of its own expenses
and losses and where all or most of the group are insured.
